It probably comes as no surprise that there are issues with poverty as well as the oppression of women in male-dominated African families but it may come as a surprise to learn this is happening in one of the continent’s most stable democratic countries, Zambia.
It is happening and unfortunately the government of the country does not have the resources or the groundswell to sufficiently deal with the problem. Our Charity, Dignity Zambia is working with the people to help.
It needs to come from outside the borders and we believe the generous and fair-minded spirit of Australians could be the catalyst for change.
We called it Dignity Zambia because the first real casualty of oppression is self-worth and dignity, particularly amongst the women and children.
